Room desperately needing an overhaul

This was a return trip to the Chevron and what a different experience. The room was very pokey and quite dark with dirty, old furniture and very unappealing style. The room and bathrooms were not very clean and many basic amenities were missing or broken. On a positive note, the main pool was wonderful (the indoor one was closed for maintenance which was unfortunate as it was cold and rainy a few days and this would have been great). Free parking was also a plus.

Room was not ready and was left extremely dirty from last person who stayed food scraps on floor and dirty linen

Wasn't a pleasant stay at all

We stayed in one of 3 bedroom apartment. The location was good all within surfers paradise main area but i wasn't happy with the quality of apartment at all. I can understand the building itself is 19 years old but i wonder when the last renovation was done. Once you enter the room, you can feel a strong weird smell coming especially from the carpet. The bedroom linen wasn't fresh either and one of couches had something in it as we had 6 in our group and all of us who sat in this particular couch had an allergic reaction and big rashes bite and marks up until today ( almost a week after).We stayed for 3 nights and didn't have a pleasant stay at all. I have stayed with Mantra before and this is not the quality what i expect for what i paid for.
